Best Panasonic Lumix TZ20 Price
Panasonic Lumix TZ20 price comparison UK
I have owned many of Panasonic’s small camera range including the ZX3 and TZ8, and have been very happy with every upgrade. I recently purchased the Panasonic Lumix TZ20, and have to say that to date it is the best compact zoom camera I have ever owned.
The quality of the images on the Lumix TZ20 is stunning. The lens has an optical zoom of 16x and even at full zoom has produced some superb photos. This may in part be down to the anti-reflection lens coating, which not only makes it easier to see in bright situations, but reduces flare significantly – although I like to think it is because my photography has improved!
I found the Lumix TZ20 is very simple to use, even with all of its new features. I particularly like the new GPS function, which embeds the location data wherever you take a shot. The name of the exact location will be stored for that photo, so you’ll never have to wonder ‘where you were when that one was taken’. You can also pinpoint the exact location of the image on internet maps. The GPS is a fantastic feature!
Another great feature of the Panasonic Lumix TZ20 is definitely the high definition video recording – at the touch of a button! A dedicated button at the side of the body allows you to press and record in an instant. Then you can watch your creation on the large screen.
It has to be said that the 3-inch touchscreen on the Lumix TZ20 is a great advantage, allowing a large viewing screen to properly see your photos and video recordings, but also enabling you to easily flick through the menus.
There is also an Intelligent Automatic function on the Panasonic Lumix TZ20, which is basically a detection functions that automatically optimizes your settings, therefore improving your shots. Of these I found night shot mode particularly useful. This feature allows you take a shot at night, producing a well lit image, but with none of the blur you’d expect.
Lumix TZ20 3D
The Lumix TZ20 also features 3D technology. This feature enables you to shoot in 3D by taking 20 panning shots then automatically selecting the best two, which it then converts into a 3D composite. Unfortunately you cannot view the composite images on the touch screen – they can only be viewed on a monitor or TV, but this is a small criticism of what is essentially a great camera.
All in all I have found the Lumix TZ20 digital camera to be an exceptional camera in every way. It comes with all the functions you’d expect, as well as the new improved functions I have mentioned. It is a very compact and easy to use camera, and comes in a variety of colours, including red and blue.
It is an ideal camera to take on holiday, but also serves excellently as a general use camera for taking good photos, regardless of your level of skill. It was well worth the money I paid, and I would certainly recommend to anyone.
